The Great Trees of Worcester

It’s not easy being an urban tree.  They don’t live all that along, on average around thirteen years.  These trees have lived longer.  In winter, you can see how great they are, though some are past their prime.  You can also see how fragile they are.

Beautiful pic, James. I love the black and white. Very dramatic..
We have a 125+ year old Honey Locust in our yard; we refer to it as the “witch tree” because it drops 12 inch pods and its thorns are as long — a great tree of Holden.

Thanks Sandra. I’d love to see, and photograph, your “witch tree.” This is part of an on-going series of trees, in and around Worcester.
